Navigating High School Hockey

Parkway West Hockey plays as part of Mid-States Club Hockey Association (MSCHA), which is the primary high school hockey league in the St. Louis metropolitan area, Missouri. It was founded in 1971 and is a non-profit organization focused on developing high school hockey. 


Mid-States Club Hockey Association (MSCHA): Consists of teams exclusively within the St. Louis metro area. It includes Varsity, Junior Varsity, and a Developmental division (B Team). The playoffs feature three cups: the Challenge Cup (top 8 teams as of the 2024-2025 season), the Wickenheiser Memorial Cup (next 12 teams), and the Founders Cup (remaining teams).


The MSCHA consists of four conferences: Central, Municipal, St. Charles, and Suburban. You can find a list of the teams within each conference on Mid-States website


The varsity and JV divisions play from October through February and the Development (B and C teams) play in the spring starting around March.


Terms:

Frozen - That is a player that is on one team. This can happen for a variety of reasons. The team is required to freeze a certain amount for Varsity only. A player can also "point out" of JV and will no longer be eligible to play JV.

Swing Player - This is a player that can play on any of the team B (if eligible), JV, and Varsity
